ABOUT ME

About Me – Brandon Strydom:

I’m Brandon Strydom, a South African actor and singer whose love for storytelling began when I first stepped onto the stage at the Westville Theatre Club in Durban at just six years old. By age eleven, I was directing my own productions, already chasing the magic of bringing stories to life. I trained at the RSPA (Rising Stars Performing Arts), Durban Actors Studio, and Action Academy, diving into every opportunity, from Speech and Drama Festivals to Shakespeare competitions, each one shaping my craft and deepening my understanding of performance as both an art form and a discipline. Growing up, the stage became more than a spotlight, it was my safe space, my voice, and my connection to the world. I learned that the arts have the power to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. That belief continues to guide everything I do.

Since moving to Cape Town, my passion has only grown. I’ve played leading roles in productions like The Wizard of Oz and Silver!, performed in award-winning vocal ensembles, and earned distinctions through Western Cape Virtual Eisteddfod, Cape Town Eisteddfod, and Trinity College London. In 2024, I earned multiple Gold awards at Show Your Talent South Africa, representing Team South Africa at Talent America 2025 in New York, where I placed first in every category I entered, became Overall Division Winner in both Acting and Vocals, and was honoured with a New York Film Academy Partial Scholarship.

This part scholarship is a dream come true, but I still need financial support to make my studies in New York a reality. Every performance I’ve given, every award I’ve earned, and every hour I’ve trained has led me here, ready to represent South Africa on one of the world’s biggest stages.
